Cowl with hand-spun yarn -- Ginga Squid
I found this blog — currently featuring lots of chunky and gorgeous handspun yarns — through my husband Erik.
He was reading boingboing.net and generally complaining about being bored. Meanwhile I was trying to get some spinning in before Kalena woke! She’s very interested in the spinning wheel lately — I think she likes my rainbow-colored drive band.
Anyway, seeing these yarns makes me yearn for a spinning wheel that can handle thicker yarns. The orifice on my wheel is just tiny. I love the peach/pink/orange combo as well.

I decided it would be nice to give people information about their purchase on their sales slip. I had some old address labels that would work, but they just said my name instead of my business name. So I decided to carve a stamp. It’s nice having lots of different hobbies… there are always lots of tools and supplies around when I feel the urge to pick something up again.

So, following the relative success of my last two craft shows, I’m doing another one!
Valentine’s Day Craftacular — Saturday February 13th, 10 am to 4 pm!
Whether you have $5 or $50 you are going to find something as unique and as special as your Valentine at the High Noon Saloon (701 East Washington Ave). Over 20 artists both local and regional.
I have a 4×4 booth for this one, so I’ll be bringing mostly yarn and cat head dolls. Maybe a few surprises! (Read: items that can fit onto the display.) Look for special Valentine outfits for the cats!
Thanks to Lora who will be helping me set up and take down the booth! Woo-hoo!
Well, actually, on Facebook I have several dozen fans. But, I have a new and special fan. Her name is Betz, her site is http://www.antlife.org/ and she has a little daughter and a baby on the way. She likes the old-fashioned things in life and likes to learn how to make things herself. And she likes my yarn! Unprompted by me, she found my Etsy site and put an ad for it on her page. So cool! So, thanks Betz, I look forward to reading more of your posts. I enjoy the city life but maybe I’ll visit your farm some day.

So, I finally updated my WordPress version. The CSS has been updated but it’s not the fanciest… a fresher look is in the works.
Edit: Well, it’s updated… everything except the Gallery section. Probably more general tweaking to come as well!
