Design Portfolio

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design from UW-Madison in 2005. Following that, I worked part-time for 7 years at The Straight Thread upholstery studio. I enjoy many fabric-related crafts! I have been sewing since I was around 6, embroidering since I was a teen, and started spinning in my 30’s (2006). It’s never too late to learn something new.

I’m accepting students (both adults and kids 8 and over) for fiber arts lessons! This can include spinning wool into yarn, crochet, knitting, weaving (tapestry), embroidery (line work or cross stitch), sewing, and mending! I can give you (or your child) a taste of all of these and get you on your way to learning more. Individual or small group lessons.

  The giant donut has a crocheted base with embroidery and beadwork on the surface. The crocheted egg is soft, and includes a small rattle. I made it for my daughter when she was a baby. I embroidered my slippers when they started to get worn out -- I really like the results!

  Knit Scarves and Shawls

  The triangular shawl is quick to knit up and can use any sorts of yarn you like. This one features some of my handspun yarn. The rectangular lace shawl uses some reclaimed wool yarn from a sweater, which I dyed a deep blue. The skinny gray scarf has a great texture.
